Who
is Eligible for B-Snip?
In order
to participate in the study, we need both:
1. One person
in a family willing to participate, aged between 15 and 65, who
has been diagnosed with either schizophrenia, or schizo-affective
disorder or bipolar disorder
2. Also
at least two first-degree relatives, i.e. a brother sister,
mother father or child it does not matter whether these relatives
have or do not have these illnesses.
The patient
and family members must be willing to travel to the nearest
B-SNIP study site in either Hartford, Baltimore, Chicago, Detroit
or Dallas and participate in two study days, each of which takes
five-hours.
If a person can come for onlty one study day, we can sometimes
perform an abbreviated one day assessment.
How
do I enroll in the Study?
There are
Study Co-ordinators at each of the
sites in the study. You can contact the coordinator at the site
most convenient for you to visit.The study coordinators can
both answer questions about what is involved in if you want
to participate in
B-SNIP, and also make arrangements for your study participation.
